Bashas' is a dynamic, growing retail group of stores that is dedicated to remaining true to its family-based values and home-grown roots while competing in the most hotly contested grocery marketplace in the nation. Our family-based values are largely responsible for the company's business success. Those values are simple: care about our customers, our members, and our communities.
Indeed, caring about our customers is the cornerstone of our business - because our ability to secure rewarding jobs for our members depends upon providing the best customer service. To make that commitment to our customers clear, Bashas' has the following "Mission Statement."
BASHAS' MISSION STATEMENT
We will provide an exceptional
food shopping experience
where every member
will deliver his or her
personal best to exceed each
customer's expectations. |
Making customers our #1 priority means more than just selling groceries. We at Bashas' pledge to provide the most attentive, caring, friendly and knowledgeable service possible.
Bashas' members have taken our Mission Statement to heart, and it is their hard work that has made us into the company we are today. Indeed, thousands of Bashas' members have poured labor and love into the company since its founding. Like any family, the personality of Bashas' is a reflection of the quality of the people who work for and grow with the company. Bashas' has survived the ups and downs of the supermarket industry, increased competition and national economic fluctuations because its members are determined to work together to continually make the company better able to serve our customers. Many members choose to remain with Bashas' for decades, and we think that says a lot about Bashas', and a lot about the people who are at its heart, our members.
BASHAS' PLEDGE & GOALS
Bashas' appreciates the central role that our members play in our business, and our members are dedicated to meeting the company's goals and objectives, knowing that doing so is the only way to ensure their own futures. As we meet the company's goals, we also continue to grow and prosper in an increasingly competitive retail market. The effects of our combined efforts are represented in the good benefits our members, our customers, and our company receive.
In recognition of the key role our members play in our business, Bashas' values each and every one of them and has shown this commitment by its longstanding pledge to:
- Respect the individual dignity of each member
- Practice leadership in which all members may have trust, faith, and confidence
- Provide employment opportunities
- Continue to provide rates of pay comparable with those prevailing for comparable work within our community and industry without jeopardizing our competitive position
- Provide and maintain a clean and healthy working environment for all members
- Support a work environment that encourages members to grow in their skills and earning capacity
- Provide an environment where members have the opportunity and are encouraged to freely discuss any matter concerning their own welfare, or the Company's, with any member of management or human resource department personnel
- Continue to actively practice our "Open Door Policy"
While the focus of Bashas' values may be our immediate family - our customers and members - we know we have an extended family that includes the communities we serve. Being involved in the lives of people, providing assistance to those in need, and taking an active role in the events that were shaping the growing communities were all values and habits of the Bashas' founders. Their children and descendants have inherited a passion for making the world a better place, especially when it comes to the state of Arizona. Few companies can point to a record that compares to Bashas' dedication and commitment to Arizona's communities - our extended family.
What we have done at Bashas', we have done TOGETHER, without the involvement of any third party, such as a union. Bashas' believes that its success and its members' security is best achieved by continuing to work TOGETHER, without interference from a union. So, Bashas' believes that having a union represent any of our members is neither in their best interest, nor in the best interest of the company. Unions may be necessary at some businesses, and at other companies that do not care about the workers that make them successful. But that is not the case at Bashas' - it never was and never will be.
